The course is ideal for all students, scientist, innovators, entrepreneurs and public that are interested in the different uses of microalgae for feed, food, and biotech.

Algal biotechnology is a technology using whole algae biomass or extract valuable compounds from algae for a wide range of uses. Algae can be cultivated to produce a variety of products for large to small markets: plastics, feed, fuel, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals and even cosmetics.

The course will cover introduction to microalgae, species used commercially, and products derived from them.

At the end of the course, the participants have an understanding of:
What are algae and how the cultivate them
The algal biotech industry
Consumer products made out of algae
Current and future applications for microalgae

The course will be taught through Teams and teaching will be in English.
